The Battle Of The Coasts At The Swingers Ball 8 2/5/05-The Skinny

This is a just dance and strictly lindy/east coast dance contest in which the registered competitors will dance against
like dancers to determine a winner from each group. One winning couple from the lindy/east family and one winning couple from
the westie family will collect $100.00 and then advance to the finals to collect a total of $250.00 additional to the overall
winner. This contest will be judged by westie and lindy judges as well as audience response. We will make every effort to
obtain the utmost objectivity.
This contest will be open to all levels. I will make every effort to strike a good balance of competitors. I will not
allow one advanced couple to dominate 5 other beginning level couples. So basically if you are, or consider yourself to be
an advanced level dancer, you better recruit other same-skilled dancers to compete as well. Same thing applies to the other
equally important competitors
All couples will pay an entry fee of $20.00 to compete.
Music for each family will be played by a DJ experienced in that particular dance format.
There will be a minimum of 6 couples per family.
Prelims will take place between 7 and 8 PM before the live bands start on Saturday February 5, 2005. There will be time
for warming up. Late registration and check-in will take place between 7-7:30 PM. Late registration will be $25.00.
Couples will dance in heats in the prelims. Heats will go two minutes. Couples dancing in the finals will go for 90 seconds
each.
