Riley can be seen at the DJ's post at virtually every major swing event in Chicago and he's also been invited to provide swing music at major swing events across the nation and internationally.

As dance partners, Riley and Margot have won a number of swing dance competitions including first place in the Great Lakes Regional for the American Lindy Hop Championships for 4 years running (1999-2002). They also appeared live on stage with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra during the "For Dancers Only" tour, and they teach as part of the City of Chicago's SummerDance series. They perform and teach East Coast Swing, Lindy Hop and Collegiate Shag throughout the Chicagoland area.

SWING DANCE INSTRUCTION AND PERFORMANCE

Currently we offer Sunday swing lessons at Willowbrook Ballroom (more info below), in addition to teaching private lessons and occasional workshops around the city and beyond.

We also present "Swing Time!", an educational cultural arts program designed for in-school performances, workshops and instruction, customizable for any grade level. GET MORE INFO HERE.

SWING MUSIC

Big Tyme Riley Wimes is also well known as one of the best swing DJs in the nation. He has been invited to provide music at a number of major swing events across the country and can be heard around Chicago several nights a week.

Riley spins at Jefferson Tap on Thursday nights and Willowbrook Ballroom on most Sundays.

Riley is also available to DJ private parties and other engagements.

CLASSES AT WILLOWBROOK BALLROOM

Every Sunday: Basic Swing
We teach an introductory swing lesson every Sunday night at Willowbrook Ballroom from 7:30-8:30pm. This class is open to anyone and is followed by a night of social dancing in the ballroom. There is no charge for the class, but you do need to pay Willowbrook's normal Sunday night cover charge, which is $7 on DJ nights and $10 on band nights.
